9 Days Safari Program – Northern Circuit

Overview

A full run through Tanzania's Northern Circuit, from the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro to the endless plains of the Serengeti. Tour a coffee farm at Materuni and walk to its waterfalls, take a ranger-led walking safari in Arusha National Park, spend two days among Tarangire's elephants and baobabs, game drive across the Serengeti, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, and finish with a guided village market tour at Mto wa Mbu.

Day By Day

1. 01
   Day 1

   Arrival – Kilimanjaro (JRO) to Moshi

   On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be warmly welcomed by our dedicated airport representative and transferred to Moshi, a comfortable drive of approximately 1 hour through the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight at Materuni Homes. (HB)

2. 02
   Day 2

   Coffee tour & waterfall visit

   After breakfast, a short walk of less than 10 minutes brings you to the start of your coffee tour, with beautiful views of Mount Kilimanjaro along the way. A professional guide leads you through the coffee farm, explaining the entire growing and production process. After a well-prepared local lunch, continue with a scenic 45-minute walk from Materuni Village to the waterfalls — comfortable hiking shoes are recommended, as parts of the trail can be slippery. 3. 03
   Day 3

   Moshi – Arusha National Park

   After breakfast, depart for Arusha National Park with your lunch boxes, approximately 1.5 hours to the entry gate. The day starts with a guided walking safari accompanied by an armed ranger, typically 2–3 hours, offering a unique opportunity to observe wildlife and landscapes up close. A game drive through the park follows, with lunch boxes at a scenic picnic spot. Later in the afternoon, drive to Medan Lodge for dinner and overnight. (HB)

   Day 4

   Arusha – Tarangire National Park

   After breakfast, depart Arusha and drive approximately 3 hours to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant population and impressive baobab trees across some 2,850 km². Enjoy a full game drive on arrival. Dinner and overnight at Sangaiwe Tented Camp.

5. 05
   Day 5

   Full-day game drive in Tarangire

   Breakfast is served at 06:30, after which you depart for a full-day game drive in Tarangire with packed lunch boxes, exploring the park's diverse wildlife and iconic landscapes. In the late afternoon, drive to Motto Cottages for dinner and overnight. (FB)

6. 06
   Day 6

   Karatu – Serengeti via Ngorongoro

   After breakfast at Motto Cottages, begin the journey to Serengeti National Park, travelling through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On arrival in the Serengeti, undertake an extended game drive through the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Narudi Tented Camp. (FB)

7. 07
   Day 7

   Full day in the Serengeti

   Spend the entire day on a game drive within Serengeti National Park, with lunch boxes at a designated picnic site inside the park. In the evening, return to camp for a well-organised sundowner experience arranged by your safari guide. Dinner and overnight at Narudi Tented Camp. (FB)

8. 08
   Day 8

   Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

   After breakfast, enjoy an en-route game drive as you depart the Serengeti toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On arrival, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive, with lunch boxes at a designated picnic site within the crater. In the late afternoon, continue to Pembeni Rhotia for dinner and overnight. (FB)

   Day 9

   Mto wa Mbu village market tour – departure

   After breakfast, depart for Mto wa Mbu Village for a guided village market tour led by a local guide, lasting approximately one hour. On completion, enjoy a leisurely drive to the airport for your scheduled flight.
