11 Days Safari Program – Northern Circuit

Overview

The most complete of our Northern Circuit programmes, adding Lake Natron and its millions of flamingos to the classic run of Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Swim at Kikuletwa Hot Springs, walk to the Natron waterfalls, see fossilised footprints and spend time with Maasai communities, then enter the Serengeti through Klein's Gate and finish with a crater rim walk and a half-day crater excursion.

Day By Day

1. 01
   Day 1

   Arrival – Kilimanjaro (JRO) to Boma Ng'ombe

   On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be warmly welcomed by our dedicated airport representative and transferred to Boma Ng'ombe, approximately 30 minutes. Dinner and overnight at Le Parlour Lodge. (HB)

2. 02
   Day 2

   Kikuletwa Hot Springs

   After breakfast, depart for a full-day excursion to Kikuletwa Hot Springs, an ideal setting for relaxation where you can swim in the natural warm waters. Our professional cook prepares a barbecue lunch complemented by bananas, with a selection of drinks provided. Return to Le Parlour Lodge for dinner and overnight. (HB)

   Day 3

   Arusha – Tarangire National Park

   After breakfast, drive approximately 3 hours from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant population and impressive baobab trees across some 2,850 km². Enjoy a full game drive on arrival. Dinner and overnight at Sangaiwe Tented Camp.

   Day 4

   Full-day game drive in Tarangire

   After an early breakfast at Sangaiwe Tented Camp, proceed to Tarangire for a full-day game drive — an excellent opportunity to observe elephants, lions, zebras and a variety of bird species in their natural habitat. Packed lunch boxes are enjoyed within the park. In the evening, drive to Motto Cottages for dinner and overnight.

   Day 5

   Mto wa Mbu – Lake Natron

   After breakfast at Motto Cottages, take a leisurely drive to Lake Natron Village, approximately three to four hours, stopping en route for packed lunch while taking in the landscapes. On arrival, rest at the lodge before an evening walk to the waterfalls. Dinner and overnight at Lake Natron Tented Camp. (FB)

6. 06
   Day 6

   Full day at Lake Natron

   After breakfast, visit Lake Natron, renowned as a breeding ground for the millions of flamingos that migrate there annually, typically between September and April. Explore fossilised footprints and immerse yourself in Maasai life — if it coincides with market day, you can experience the local village market and interact with the community. Return to camp for a hot lunch. Dinner and overnight at Lake Natron Tented Camp. (FB)

7. 07
   Day 7

   Lake Natron – Serengeti via Klein's Gate

   After an early breakfast, drive about 4 hours to Serengeti National Park via Klein's Gate, the north-eastern entry to the park. Complete check-in, then head out on a game drive with packed lunch boxes in the park. Dinner and overnight at Seronera Wildlife Lodge or Narudi Camp, in the heart of the Serengeti. (FB)

   Day 8

   Full day in the central Serengeti

   Spend the entire day on a game drive within Serengeti National Park, with lunch boxes at a designated picnic site. In the evening, return to camp for a sundowner experience arranged by your safari guide. Dinner and overnight at Narudi Tented Camp. (FB)

   Day 9

   Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

   After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in the Serengeti before driving to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On arrival, take a crater rim walk to admire the views, with packed lunch boxes provided. Dinner and overnight at Acacia Farm Lodge. (FB)

    Day 10

    Karatu – Ngorongoro Crater excursion

    After an early breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and complete check-in formalities at Loduare Gate. Enjoy a half-day game drive in the crater, with lunch boxes at designated picnic sites. In the afternoon, ascend the crater and drive to Arusha for dinner and overnight at Medan Lodge. (HB)

    Day 11

    Leisure day – airport transfer

    A leisure day at Medan Lodge allowing you to relax depending on your flight schedule, followed by a transfer to the airport for your departure.
